Bryan Mills’ seventeen-year-old daughter Kim is his pride and joy. Bryan, a former agent at the Central Intelligence Agency, moved to California with Kim. Kim lives with Lenore, her wealthy mother and Stuart, her stepfather. Kim convinces her father, who is reluctant to let her travel to Paris together with Amanda. They share a taxi with Peter when they arrive in Paris. Amanda then reveals that the two of them are all alone. The girls are taken hostage by an Albanian group of human traffickers who use this information. Kim has barely enough time to phone her father and provide him with information. Kim’s father speaks briefly with one of her kidnappers, and promises to shoot the kidnappers if his daughter is not released. Bryan Mills, the kidnapper’s friend, travels to Paris in search of his daughter. –Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
