Stop Making Sense
David Byrne steps onto the stage to perform a solo version of “Psycho Killer”. For two additional songs, Jerry Harrison joins him along with Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Chris Frantz. Crew members are busy setting up. Three more musicians join the group, as well as two backup singers. Everyone sings and plays music, harmonizes with others, runs, and dances. They also change their clothes and instruments. Bryne is seen in the Big Suit. Although the backdrop is usually black, it sometimes displays images or words. It is clear that the band has prepared 18 songs. The lyrics are simple and the music rocks. The Talking Heads are unable to talk and don’t slow down, but they always make sense in concert footage. —
