Space Cowboys
A Russian satellite orbiting Earth begins to drift off-course. The guidance system inside the satellite seems to be American. You should fix the problem before it reaches the atmosphere. N.A.S.A. Bob Gerson (James Cromwell), a man who tries to discover who created it, finds out that Frank Corvin (Clint Eastwood), an Air Force pilot, designed it. He was once part of a team originally supposed to travel to space. But when the N.A.S.A. was formed, they were dropped. Gerson was instrumental in their formation. Frank is asked by Gerson to assist, and Frank holds grudges. After some convincing, Frank agreed to help but only if his team and he could go there with him so that he could fix the problem. Gerson is reluctant to agree, and Frank invites former teammates, Tank Sullivan (James Garner), Jerry O’Neill, (Donald Sutherland), “Hawk Hawkins” (Tommy Lee Jones), to come along. They are cleared after a series of rigorous tests. They then go with two astronauts to check the satellite out and find that the truth wasn’t being told. –[email protected]
