Shakespeare in Love
William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes), a well-known but unsuccessful poet, playwright and actor is now facing a much more challenging problem. He is devoid of any ideas and cannot begin to write. He searches for his inspiration, but all efforts fail to him. Then he meets Viola De Lesseps (Gwyneth paltrow). Although she loves theatre, and wants to be an actor herself, it is prohibited for her to do so. Her love for Shakespeare is unmatched. She auditions as Thomas Kent, a disguised man. Shakespeare quickly sees through the disguise of her and begins a relationship. It is not destined to end well for them, as she has already been married and she has been promised by Colin Firth (Lord Wessex). While the company is rehearsing their new play, William and Viola fall in love and it is translated to the page. This leads to the epic that is Romeo and Juliet. –garykmcd
