Perfect Strangers (2017)
Some long-time friends get together for dinner on the night of a bloody red moon. They are Alfonso, the plastic surgeon, and Eva, the psychologist Eva. The dinner is hosted by Antonio and Ana, the lawyers and taxi driver Eduardo, and Blanca, the young, recent, and very pregnant veterinary Blanca. Finally, Pepe, the former instructor at the gym who has since left the job market, appears in the room without Lucia, his girlfriend. Blanca and Ana, both psychologists, suspect Blanca of having an affair with Eva, while Ana believes that Blanca is a homosexual. She proposes a game in which all diners must leave their phones at the table. The condition of the game is for everyone to read all voice messages. Although it may seem like a harmless game, what follows is a dramatic series of events. Blanca suspects Eva of having an affair. Ana believes wrongly that Antonio was homosexual. Blanca discovers the dark side to her marriage to Eduardo. Pepe attempts to conceal the truth about Lucia. This transforms an evening between friends into a night where love and friendship must confront the worst enemy, truth. –Chockys
