Oddity
Keep it brief review:"Oddity" A medium uncovers the truth behind her sister's brutal murder. Returning to the scene of the crime, using haunted objects to seek revenge on those involved. Oddity is a rare breath of fresh air in the horror community. While not reinventing the wheel, Oddity has its most effective moments due to the creepy atmosphere and simple plot throughout the its runtime.Oddity is not the scariest recent horror movie but it does feature some great jump scares (never thought I'd say that). However the caveat issue is when oddity wants to take bigger steps forward, it unfortunately takes two back. While remaining creepy and effective for a lower budget film, Oddity suffers from predictable storytelling.Despite its shortcomings, it's hard not to appreciate what this film is trying to do. Ultimately audiences will have to make their own decision but for now….3 out of 5Positives:
+ Creepy tense atmosphere throughout ODdity's runtime+ Great performance from cast but especially Carolyn Bracken+Some good scaresNegatives:Predictable Plot and endingFeels FamiliarSlow burn style horror film, that not audiences will enjoyRating: 3 out of 5.
