Marvellous
Neil Baldwin was born shortly after World War II. Although he is thought to have learning disabilities, he still has a passion for life. He leaves his job as a butcher to become nello the clown in the circus, and is not discouraged when it moves on without him. Mary takes on a cleaning job at Keele University. He is appointed the official greeter for new students. This honorary degree was awarded to him in 2013. In 1992, he talks his way to becoming the Kit Man and Mascot for his favorite football club Stoke City. Neil is open to all possibilities. His interest in religion led him to become a lay preacher while he attends tea at the House of Commons with Tony Benn. He also visits Cambridge University where he makes a friend with Prince Andrew. This friendship leads to Neil being included on Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas card. Neil’s indomitable spirit and ability to overcome early setbacks, as well as the loss of his mother, makes life a marvellous. –don @ minifie-1
