Little Miss Sunshine
Sheryl Hoover, a suicidal brother Frank, arrives in Albuquerque to be with her dysfunctional family. Frank, a homosexual and an expert on Proust is Frank. After being rejected by his partner, he tried suicide. However, his rival became famous and was recognized as the number one proust scholar. Richard, Sheryl’s husband is trying unsuccessfully to market his self-improvement and self-help technique that uses nine steps to achieve success. But he is actually a total loser. Dwayne, her son, has made a vow to remain silent as a Nietzsche follower and plans on becoming a pilot. Dwayne was born to Edwin, a grandfather who is addicted to heroin and had been sent from Sunset Manor (an institution for older people). Olive, seven years old, is given the chance to contest the Little Miss Sunshine Pageant in Redondo Beach.
