Saroo, a 5-year-old Indian child from a happy but poor rural family in 1986 was living with his brother. Saroo, who was on a journey with his brother to India, soon becomes alone. He is trapped in an abandoned passenger train, which takes him 1000 miles from home. Saroo is now completely lost and unable to recognize his family or home. He struggles to survive in the urban jungle until he’s adopted by an orphanage. Saroo soon is adopted by the Brierley family of Tasmania where he lives in a happy, secure home. Saroo, despite all of his wealth, is plagued with the memories of his family lost in adulthood. He tries to find them, even though his guilt makes it difficult to tell his parents and girlfriend. He realizes not only what he is looking for but the unwavering love he shares with his family in both the physical and spiritual worlds. –Kenneth Chisholm ([email protected])
