Kingpin

Roy Munson, a son of Ernie McCracken and a father who trained him early in his career as a bowler, was raised to become the greatest player in the game. Roy loses his hand due to a collision with Ernie McCracken, a fellow bowler. He doesn’t let it get him down and he becomes a traveling salesman with a prosthetic hand. It’s all downhill for him since that night. Then he runs into Ishmael, an Amish man. He sneaks off to the farm and bowls (his Amish friends would be mad at him). Roy convinces Ishmael that he will be his coach and make him one of the greatest bowlers the world has ever witnessed. Ishmael reluctantly agrees to travel and soon finds that the life off the farm can be quite enjoyable. Their paths soon cross those of Ernie McCracken, who is still an elite bowler. Roy has lost his career and is now living in the bathroom bowl. Ernie, however, continues to draw huge crowds of women and girls! Both will be competing in the ultimate bowling title… to determine who is truly the champion. –Jane Byron Dean
