Infidelity in Suburbia
Greg and Laura Halpern have been married for almost ten years. They still love one another but are not in sync on so many levels. From their children Jamie (who is seven) to Greg’s priorities regarding discretionary spending to Laura wanting a new kitchen to Greg who focuses on the money pit on their sailboat to Laura thinking that Greg has too much work to do to their sex lives. Greg meets Elliot Graverston who is a contractor and sailor, and offers to help with the kitchen project. Mira, Laura’s wife friend, shared with her the truth that she was willing to cheat with Elliot. However, Laura is committed to keeping her vows to Greg, despite her problems. Laura is shocked to learn that Greg has been having an affair. She believes Hanna, his work assistant, and turns to Elliot to get emotional support. Elliot then offers to sexually assault her. While Laura is trying to decide what to do with Greg and Elliot’s story, Laura doesn’t realize that Elliot also has a complicated past. This stems from his childhood, when his father wasn’t there, and his mother was constantly changing from one affair to the next. If Laura turns more towards Elliot, it could put all of the Halperns as well as anyone else who may be close to them in peril. –Huggo
