During the Ming Dynasty, four orphans, Ying (Sao), Yuanlong, and Niehu, are brought up in Taoyuan Village. They become brothers. They are able to attain the highest rank in the imperial guards because of their exceptional martial arts skills. The Emperor orders Ying, after a failed attempt to kill a Japanese troop commander, to escort Ying from Sindu to the capital. This Golden Wheel of Time is believed to possess the ability to time travel and see into the future. The correspondence between Japanese officials and Ming officers seized during the mission reveals Mr. Tu, the Chief of National Defence, that he is able to identify the traitor from his handwritings. Ying encounters Yuanlong, Niehu, and Sao as he tries to escort the Golden Wheel of Time through the snow. They tell Ying about the death of Tu’s relatives, naming Ying the victim. According to the Emperor, Ying murdered Tu to hide his identity as a traitor and orders Ying’s clan and Ying to be killed. A separate unit is dispatched to Taoyuan in order to execute the villagers. Ying is convinced that the traitor must be one of the three and the person responsible for the ruthless murders based on the evidence. Ying decides to make a stand to save Taoyuan villagers. Duel’s intensity has shaken the Earth, causing an avalanche of earth that buries them during the heat. Squire Tang is now in 2013 and has been funded by a mysterious financier. He finds Ying Sao, Niehu, and Sao. The vehicle involved in a collision with a truck that causes Ying to be defrosted, as he is transferring the icemen from China to Hong Kong. Ying, after being frozen for over 400 years, arrives in modern-day Hong Kong. He meets May, an intoxicated lady, on Halloween night. She later provides shelter. Ying quickly becomes familiar with modern society thanks to his intelligence and hard work. Ying and May slowly fall in love as they adjust to their new lives. Ying never forgets the injustice that he was subject to. A historical record that claims Ying plotted a rebellion which earned him the label of a traitor in the history books is found by him. There is not much information about the fates of the villager. To correct the past, Ying must use The Golden Wheel of Time. But, Niehu and Sao are also now reanimated. The chase continues, leading eventually to many showdowns in Hong Kong. –DOK
