Girls Trip
The “Flossy Posse”, four best friends who have become distant over time, are now the “Flossy Posse”. Ryan Pierce (Regina Hall), lifestyle guru and dubbed the “next Oprah,” is invited to speak at Essence Music Festival, New Orleans. She decides to take her four best friends along to make her vacation a girls trip. Sasha (Queen Latifah), an exjournalist for Time Magazine, is now the owner of a struggling gossip website and is in financial trouble; Lisa (Jada pinkett Smith), who is a nurse who is uptight and hasn’t had a boyfriend since she divorced years ago and Dina(Tiffany Haddish), who is a cheerful-go-lucky and impulsive party animal and was fired shortly after assaulting her coworker. Sasha receives a tip showing a photo of a man in black kissing an Instagram model. This is likely to be Ryan, Stewart’s husband. Ryan is reluctant to hear from his friends, but Dina tells Ryan that Ryan was already in counseling and she’s aware. Stewart is confronted by Dina at the hotel and she attempts to threaten him with a broken glass. She was subsequently thrown out of her hotel room. All the girls flee with Stewart in solidarity, and the only place they can get to stay is at a one-star motel that caters mostly to prostitutes.
