Gentleman’s Agreement
Philip Green, a respected writer and journalist is being recruited by a national magazine for a series on American anti-Semitism. The series is not appealing to him, mainly because he doesn’t know how to approach the topic. He realizes that pretending to be Jewish would allow him to experience racism and prejudice and then write the story. He is quick to become a victim of bigotry. He is angry at how he has been treated and it affects his relationships with Kathy Lacy (his publisher’s niece) who was the one who suggested that the series be published. –garykmcd
