Finding Your Feet
Bif and Sandra, British sister from Britain are now in their senior years. Their differences have caused them to be estranged for over a decade. Sandra is now Lady Abbott, her husband Mike Abbott being knighted. She does everything necessary to maintain a high-class lifestyle and marriage. Bif, older, is the more relaxed one. She lives in the moment and doesn’t care that her inner-city London apartment is a pigsty. As long as she has what she needs, she is happy. Sandra is not able to have someone like Bif, but Bif regrets what Sandra became when she married Mike. Sandra used to be a person who was full of life and enthusiasm. Sandra discovers that Mike is having an affair with Pamela for 5 years and asks for a divorcement. Feeling like she has lost her way in retirement, Sandra turns to Bif to help her feel better. Sandra is not able to accept Bif’s help. She feels isolated in Bif’s environment, including the adult dance class that she takes. It is only her close friends who attend. Charlie Glover is one of those friends. His institutionalized wife Lilly, who has Alzheimer’s, is at a crossroads in their marriage. Sandra must evaluate all aspects of her life, including her past and present. She will also need to connect with Bif’s friends and make connections with Charlie. Sandra may gain a better understanding of what her true desires are by watching Bif go through her challenges. –Huggo
