Eye in the Sky
Colonel Katherine Powell (Dame Helen Mirren), a U.K. military officer, is in charge of an elite drone operation in Kenya to capture terrorists. The mission quickly escalates from “capture to kill” thanks to remote surveillance and ground intel. As American pilot Lieutenant Steve Watts, an American pilot, is about to enter the kill zone, a nine year old girl enters. This triggers an international dispute that reaches the highest levels of the U.S. government and the British government over modern warfare’s moral and political implications. –Bleecker Street
