Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010)
Greg Heffley believes middle school to be the most stupid idea. This place is rigged with hundreds social landmines. Not the least, morons, wedgies swirlies bullies lunchtime banishment on the cafeteria floor, and a festering slice of cheese with nuclear cooties. Greg creates a series of impossible-to-miss strategies to help him get through the endless ordeal. None of these schemes work out. Greg is putting it all on paper via a diary – it’s not a diary; it’s a journal! Greg prefers the more casual title – filled full of his thoughts and opinions as well as tales about family trials and triumphs and other (potential) schoolyard successes. Greg writes, “One day I will be famous.” He says that he’ll do more than answering stupid questions every day. The Wimpy Kid was thus born. –Twentieth Century Fox
