Paris 1895. Pierre, a Parisian poet and dandy, is on the brink of greatness. Henri, his poet friend, is madly in love to Marie, Marie’s cheeky, Franco-Cuban-Cuban poet Jose Maria de Heredia. She loves Pierre but she is forced to marry Henri by her father in order to repay his debts and seek a better socio-economic position. Pierre flees to Algeria to meet Zohar. They share a love for erotica photography. He returns to Paris two years later with Marie, and he confesses that she is still in love with him. In Paris, erotic photographs are the background to their affair. They play a game of cat and mouse with other people and break the rules of society. This will lead them to be one of the most well-known poets and writers of the 19th century France.
