Coach Carter

Ken Carter, a former basketball coach at his high school, accepts the position of basketball coach in 1999. Carter is dismayed at the attitude and poor play of his former high school basketball players. Carter imposes strict rules, including written contracts which require respect for teammates and players to follow a certain dress code. Carter quickly dispels any initial resistance and the team becomes an undefeated rival. Carter immediately takes action when Carter notices that the team is becoming more confident and too many students are failing in school. Carter immediately cancels team activities, and lockes the court to ensure that the academic progress of the group is acceptable. This angers the school, community and Carter. Carter fights for his methods and is determined to teach the boys good values. He eventually discovers that he has had a greater impact on them than he could have ever imagined. –Kenneth Chisholm ([email protected])
