Closet Monster
Oscar Madly, 8 years old, was traumatized. Oscar was 8 years old when his mom left him and Oscar stood firm behind his father. Oscar then witnessed an act of homophobic violence at school, which left the victim permanently paralyzed. Ten years have passed. Oscar is befriended and supported by Buffy the talking hamster. He wants to go to special effects school to learn about Gemma, his best friend, and to see his father’s immature, antisocial shortcomings. Oscar’s sexual feelings start to rise when he meets Wilder, his coworker from the hardware shop. However, this is accompanied by intense stomach pains (from the memory of the hate crime). Oscar’s problems are brought to the forefront by Wilder’s farewell party. –statmanjeff
