Clara
Astrophysicist and astronomer Dr. Isaac Bruno has always been obsessed by the idea that life exists in other parts of the universe than on Earth. He has found himself in a Catch-22 situation in his own life. His obsession with finding life in the cosmos has led him to act inappropriately in every aspect of his life. He was indefinitely removed from university due to his professional conduct. This also meant that he has no access to equipment or resources to aid in the search. This is unfortunate timing, as TESS and other advances in telescope technology provide much information to the community. He is desperate for assistance and does not have the resources to pay for a room or board. Clara is the only applicant he gets. She is an artist with little astrophysics knowledge and no education beyond a high school diploma. He suspects that Clara is more interested than being homeless in having a room and board. Her prized possessions include Eeva her dog, and a selection of rocks that she takes everywhere with her. They are mostly gathered from her travels around the world, each one indicating a continent. Isaac hires her because she is hardworking and can learn fast. Whatever Isaac might find, Clara, an artist with a keen eye for observation, could provide something that is more important to his life. –Huggo
