Call Me by Your Name

CALL ME BY MY NAME is the latest film from Luca Guadagnino. It’s a beautiful and profound tale about first love. Based on Andre Aciman’s novel. It is 1983, the northern part of Italy. Elio Perlman, played by Timothee Chalamet, is a 17-year old precocious young man who spends his time in his 17th century villa reading classical music and transcribing. Elio has a strong relationship with both his father Michael Stuhlbarg (an eminent Professor specializing on Greco-Roman Culture) and his mother Annella Casar (Amira Casar), who are supportive of him in sharing the benefits of high culture within a natural setting. Although Elio is a mature adult with intellectual and sophisticated skills, there are still many things that remain unformed and unknown about him. Oliver (Armie Hamer), an American graduate student at college, is assigned to Elio as his annual summer intern. In the sunshine-drenched setting of their summer, Elio discovers the beauty and power of awakening love. This will change the course of their lives. –Sony Pictures Classics
