Beneath (2013)
Samantha Marsh (or Sam) is seen in a bar at her father’s retirement celebration. She grew up in small-town coal mining communities and decided that she would rather study environmental law than follow in the footsteps of her father. His many years spent mining coal have left him with a serious illness. He can’t work anymore without risking his health. Sam is shocked when the miners at the bar claim that Sam has been doing nothing but checking Facebook and painting nails all her life. The mine shaft bursts, trapping Sam, her father, and other miners below. Some are killed immediately, others are injured. As oxygen is depleted, those left behind begin to panic and fear that they will be unable to breathe.
