Beautiful Girls
Willie Conway, a jazz pianist based in New York, returns to Knights Ridge for his high school reunion. It is not only to see old friends and go back to Knights Ridge, Massachusetts for the reunion but also to escape from his present life which is in flux both professionally and personally. His piano-playing gigs are enough to make a decent living. He’d like to consider a job in sales. His long-time girlfriend Tracy Stover, is also uncertain if he wants to get married. While Willie and his Knights Ridge blue-collar friends were most fondly reunited in high school, many still have the “trophy mentality” of wives and girlfriends. Only Michael “Mo”, Morris, is married and has a family. Paul Kirkwood is a proud owner of a room filled with magazines featuring models. He wants Jan, his ex-girlfriend as a waitress, back because he now knows that he cannot have her. Tommy “Birdman”, who was the tallest man at high school, wants to have an affair with Darian Smalls, his high school sweetheart. Darian’s story is known by Tommy, but Sharon Cassidy, Tommy’s girlfriend at the moment, has stood beside him through good and bad. The beautiful Andera, a cousin to their friend and bar owner Stanley Womack, could be the reason this group of friends has found some support in their dealings with women issues. Willie might need some reason to understand why Marty is his father’s 13-year old neighbor. Willie also learns Tracy is coming along to the reunion. –Huggo
