Apollo 11
The Apollo 11 mission’s fiftieth year marks the beginning of the end. This presentation focuses solely on archival footage. From the final preparations to launch, through the landing of the capsule and its astronauts safely on Earth, the events are covered. It is a historic mission because it marks the first human step on the moon’s surface. The mission made Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong household names, respectively, while Michael Collins, the third astronaut who was still in the capsule, became less well-known. Because the astronauts left the capsule, it was undoubtedly the most hazardous space mission of all time. –Huggo
