Annie (1982)
Annie, a young orphan girl from the 1930s who is played by Aileen Quinn (Carol Burnett), must survive in the miserable home of Miss Agatha Hannigan (Carol Burnett). When she is chosen to stay for a brief time at the home of Oliver “Daddy”, Warbucks (Albert Finney), her seemingly desperate situation will change dramatically. She quickly charms all of her household staff, and even Warbucks who are coldhearted can’t help but fall in love with this beautiful girl. Annie’s long-lost parents are his priority. He offers a reward for those who come to him to prove their identities and offer to help her find them. Annie is put in grave danger by Miss Agatha Hannigan and her evil brother Daniel Francis Hannigan (Tim Curry). They plan to pretend to be those individuals to claim the reward. –Kenneth Chisholm
