American Graffiti
In a small town in southern California, it’s the end of summer 1962. Curt Henderson, Curt’s best friend, and Steve Bolander are due to depart town for college. Curt Henderson, who was awarded a lucrative scholarship from the local community, is considered to be the future of their class. Curt has second thoughts about moving to what Steve sees as their “dead end” town. Curt is strengthened by the sight of a beautiful, unidentified blonde T-bird. She says “I love You” to Curt. Curt is trying to locate that blonde, while trying to escape from local gang members who hold him hostage. Curt might make a decision regarding his immediate future. Steve, the outgoing class president, is determined to go, even though it means that Curt will be leaving Laurie Henderson (head cheerleader) behind. Laurie and Steve spend the evening “negotiating” the status of their relationship. Two of their close friends take a stroll around the town in the meantime. Steve left his car with Terry Fields, a gentle and calm-mannered Terry Fields. Toad’s newfound confidence gives him the opportunity to impress Debbie Dunham (a girl who is more skilled than him). John Milner is the street race king in his yellow-deuce convertible. He tries to rid Carol Morrison of her precocious status and confront Bob Falfa, an out-of-towner. –Huggo
