Alexander

Alexander the Great (Colin Farrell), conquered ninety per cent of the world’s known areas by age twenty-five. He led his army through 221,000 miles of conquests and sieges in eight years. From tiny Macedonia Alexander led his army against the Persian Empire and drove westward to Egypt before finally reaching India. The movie focused on Alexander’s eight-year battle record and his friendship with Hephaistion (Jared Leto), his battle buddy from childhood. Alexander, who was thirty-two years old, died from illness. Alexander’s victories opened the door to the spreading of Greek culture, which enabled the rise of Christianity hundreds of years later. They also removed many obstacles that could have hindered the growth of the Roman Empire. The world that we now know would not have existed without Alexander’s unifying conquest. –[email protected]
