The Wailing
Police officer Jong Goo in South Korea investigates strange murders that were caused by an unknown disease. According to his partner, a Japanese man living in an isolated house high up in the mountains is believed to be the evil spirit behind the disease. Jong-Goo and his Japanese priest partner decide to go visit the stranger. The stranger’s house has an altar, a head of goat, photos on the walls showing the victims, as well as a guard dog who prevents them from leaving until they arrive. Jong-Goo discovers one shoe belonging to his daughter Hyo-jin in the home of the stranger and she soon becomes sick. While his mother-in law summons Il-gwang, a shaman to rescue her daughter, a mysterious woman informs Jong Goo that it is the stranger.
