Thirteen Days

U-2 surveillance photographs from October 1962 reveal that the Soviet Union was in process of placing nukes in Cuba. If they are operational, these weapons could wipe out the entire Eastern and Southern United States within minutes. John F. Kennedy must work with his advisers to develop a strategy against the Soviets. Kennedy wants to prove that he can stand up against the threat. The Pentagon recommends U.S. military strike against Cuba, which could open the door to an additional U.S. invasion. Kennedy hesitates to act, as a U.S. invasion might cause Soviets to respond in Europe. It seems almost certain that there will be a nuclear war. Is it possible to stop this? —
