Paradise Alley

In New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen, it’s 1946. Cosmo Carboni is the oldest of three Carboni brothers and he laments what he believes they are not doing to their full potential. Cosmo Carboni, the big talking Cosmo, hustles for his money and makes a lot of panhandles. An undertaker is Brooding Lenny Carboni who is an infirm veteran with a stoic attitude that stems from wartime. The iceman is Victor Carboni’s youngest brother, the muscle-man with no anger issues and who would not hurt a fly without being annoyed. Victor turns to Lenny, his Chinese-American girlfriend Susan Chow for his voice of reason. Victor defeats Frankie the Thumper, an arm wrestler, in a match. Cosmo sees the lucrative matches at Paradise Alley and realizes that Victor’s calling is to be a wrestler. They would be the trainers and managers. Victor and Lenny agree to be trainers and managers. Instead of making the brothers more close, their wrestling lives and their love for Annie the taxi dancer threaten to break them apart. Victor may be in danger of losing his life if Frankie and Stitch Malone (his sadistic manager) treat it like a grudge match. –Huggo
