Parasite (2019)

Mother and father Chungsook, Ki-taek and their children, Ki-woo, and Ki-jung, are poor and live in cramped quarters in Seoul’s lower-working class district. They, particularly Mr. and Mrs. Kim smell like poverty without even realizing it. They often act as a group and concoct minor frauds in order to survive. Even when they are employed, they only do minimal work. Ki-woo dreams of one day getting out of poverty and going to college. Despite his lack of a university education, Kiwoo is selected by Min, his university student friend, to become his tutor to Park Dahye. Min has plans to meet Park Dahye once he is back in Seoul. They are wealthy and have been living in their contemporary house, which was designed by Namgoong. Although Mr. and Mrs. Park seem to be all about the status of their family, Mrs. Park is more concerned about her temperament and flightiness. Min says to Ki-woo that Min was comfortable lying about her education in order to obtain the job. Ki-woo learns from Mrs. Park that she is seeking an artist therapist to help her son Da-song. Ki-woo recommends his friend Jessica, who is actually Ki-jung, who he believes can do the trick of being the most convincing liar among the four Kims. Ki-woo falls for Da-hye and so the Kims begin a plan to have all four of them, including Ki-jung, use assumed names to replace the Parks’ servants. Moon-gwang is the Parks’ housekeeper. She was Namgoong’s homekeeper during his time there and so knows the inside and out of the house better than anyone. It is now up to the Kims how far they can go in trying to emulate the Parks. –Huggo
