Sicario
Kate Macer is the leader of a Phoenix-based FBI kidnap unit. After Kate leads a raid against a Chandler drug den, Matt Graver, a Special Operations Team Leader for the CIA is assigned to Kate. She was recruited because she had tactical procedure knowledge. The team works with a Delta Force team to provide primary gun power when required. Its main mission is to capture or dismember the major players of the Mexican cartel, Manuel Diaz, Guillermo Diaz (Manuel’s brother) and Fausto Alarcon, a drug lord. Kate accepts the task because she believes that the team’s work would have a greater impact on stopping drug trafficking in the US than her kidnap unit. Alejandro is the third member of the team, a Hispanic/Latino man Kate doesn’t know. He is also suffering from trauma and she is not sure she can trust him. Kate discovers the truth about the team’s operations when she and her team travel to El Paso. Many of the procedures aren’t legal or above board, despite knowing the ultimate goal. Kate is still in the dark about the details and receives only the necessary information, but she decides to stay with them to learn all the truth while remaining committed to the goal. As she discovers the exact reason for her recruitment, she may be experiencing mixed emotions or even changing. –Huggo
