Oldboy (2003)
The drunk and obnoxious Oh Dae Su is abducted in 1988. He wakes up in an empty hotel room with no windows, locked for unknown reasons. His pitiless and invisible captors will provide food, clothing, and medication to prevent him from committing suicide. Oh Dae Su’s only friend and window to the outside world is the television in his cell. Oh Dae Su’s daily journal is all that keeps him going. Unexpectedly, after 15 years of captivity the confused prisoner is released. He’s encouraged to find his tormentor and get his revenge.
